Interest Meeting

Our Greet and Meet Forums are designed to recruit individuals that are ideal members for the organization who meet the membership profile. The chapter is seeking to recruit individuals who have a passion for advocacy and can make significant contributions to achieve the mission of NCBW. Interested individuals are provided with detailed information about the organization, importance of advocacy, chapter history, and committee programs. Members and guests were able to network and exchange dialogue.

WIIFM

The goal is to recognize member’s commitment throughout the year. Members of NCBW-SNJ, enjoy an appreciation luncheon in celebration of a successful program year. Madam President expresses her gratitude to each member for their commitment to making the Southern New Jersey Chapter exceptional.

Each member is personally recognized by Madam President. As a chapter, we routinely recognize and honor members by:

Member Recognition. A gift for a sister is raffled off at every membership meeting as a way to encourage and make the member feel special. Members are also recognized for their accomplishments in the Coalition and Southern New Jersey communities.

Unsung Hero Award. An unsung hero is someone who makes a substantive yet unrecognized contribution to the chapter and our work. Chapter members may nominate a Coalition sister whom they would like to see honored for her “unsung hero” work during the current program year.

President’s Recognition Award. As a chapter, we are only as strong as our collective membership. What each individual does to get the work done makes the task easier for us all. There are, however, members who go far above the call of duty and consistently rise to the occasion. The President’s Recognition Award is designed to publicly acknowledge and highlight such an individual.

In addition, SNJ Chapter subsidizes the National Leadership Retreat/Biennial Conference registration fees and Legislative Days registration fees.

New Member Orientation

The goal of our New Member Orientation (NMO) is to provide new members with an overview of NCBW and broaden their understanding of the organization. NMO is conducted to familiarize new members with Chapter bylaws and programmatic operation of the organization.

A NMO booklet is given to new members and orientation is conducted in the presence of Officers of NCBW-SNJ. A fruitful discussion is facilitated about the mission, core values, and organizational structure of NCBW. At the NMO, new members are also provided copies of the Chapter Bylaws and Conflict of Interest form and advised of the purposes for both documents. The NCBW-SNJ trifold, which encompasses information about the NCBW’s Core Values, Mission, Vision, Agenda and Officers as well as Board of Directors was provided. During the NMO, the commitment to the organization is reinforced and new members are encouraged to actively participate in the organization. The NMO concludes with the new members taking a pledge to uphold the mission of NCBW.
