President’s Welcome
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the website for Southern New Jersey Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., (NCBW). Our membership represents a diverse group of progressive women from various professions dedicated to advocacy on behalf of black women and girls.
Through advocacy we work as change agents in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean and Salem Counties to influence policy that promotes gender equity in health awareness, education leadership and economic empowerment. We believe through our efforts we will fulfill our vision of seeing black women and girls live in a world where socio-economic inequity does not exist.
NCBW was launched on October 24, 1981, with representatives from 14 states and the District of Columbia, and selected Jewell Jackson McCabe as its first national president. Its mission is to advocate on behalf of black women and girls through national and local actions and strategic alliances that promote the NCBW agenda on leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment.
As we continue our advocacy work on behalf of black women and girls, we encourage you to learn more about our organization, both locally and nationally. We invite you to visit our membership page for more information about joining our distinguished sisterhood.
With the support and dedication of our community partners and supporters, the Coalition will continue to focus on its signature programs such as SisterNomic$, Candace Women of Achievement Awards and Scholarship Program. We extend a special thanks to our partners, corporate sponsors and friends in the community.
With warmest regards,
Dr. Marguerite K. Hall
President, NCBW, Southern New Jersey Chapter
